I was looking to adopt a dog for awhile, because of my girlfriend I became obsessed with Corgis. Sure enough as luck would have it I found Matie May online February 19, 2013, and right in Minot! I knew such a lovely dog would be adopted out quickly, so I made the choice to leave right after work, as it was a close enough drive I could make it there in time. I got to meet her that day and I knew she was the dog for me. She was quiet as all the other dogs were barking, she was so friendly and wanted her belly scratched. She was perfect! I filled out the paperwork and reluctantly headed back home for the night. I waited anxiously over the next couple weeks only to find out she was adopted out to another family. I was heartbroken. Nearly 2 months went by, until one day I received a call from the SVAS. I was really confused on why they would be calling me. Sure enough for whatever reason Matie was returned to the SVAS and they wanted to know if I would still like to adopt her, without hesitation I said yes! I gave myself the weekend to prepare my apartment for her arrival. April 22, 2013 was one of the best days of my life as I was able to walk out of SVAS with my little girl Madison (Madi for short) and share my home with her. She has been the greatest dog I've owned. She's well behaved, very smart, and very affectionate. Everybody loves her unique Corgi features, the big ears, the short legs, and the nubby little tail. I recently moved into my first house so now she has a big yard to run around and explore and plenty of space to run around inside too. Every night I carry her upstairs to the bedroom so she can sleep in the same room as me. Her little legs weren't made to go up steep stairs that are common in older houses. But that won't stop me from making sure she's happily asleep next to me every night. Without Madi my house wouldn't feel like a home. Thanks SVAS for the opportunity to have this little bundle of love in my life!
