The Souris Valley Animal Shelter operates by managed intake. This means we schedule all intakes by appointment. This allows us to provide the best care for the incoming animals and keep their stress levels as low as possible. At an intake appointment, you will provide your driver’s license and any vet records/information, complete a statement of release, and submit your donation for the surrendered pet. This donation covers the pet’s first few days of boarding as well as required vaccinations and microchip. No discount is given for pets coming in with current vaccinations as the boarding expense is the largest portion of the surrender donation.
Surrender donation for dogs: $150
Surrender donation for cats: $120
