This is Shelbi Waters, Executive Director of SVAS. While the development team is busy raising money and the operations team is busy saving lives, Shelbi stays hard at work on the 2019-2020 capital campaign. Her million-dollar dream for the shelter is to facilitate low-cost spay and neuter clinics. Did you know the new building will feature a surgery suite to make this happen in 2021? If you’re interested in chatting all things capital campaign, contact Shelbi at ed@svaspets.com.

Lauren Rogers, Assistant Director of Animal Welfare. When asked what her million-dollar dream is for SVAS, she responded, “An indoor dog spa for animals with health issues, indoor dog park, low-cost vaccinations for everyone, low-cost spay and neuter clinic, and lastly– a space to rescue more than cats and dogs.” BIG dreams coming from this SVAS staff!

I am a huge dog lover and have two of my own. What I love most about SVAS is their dedication to the community.  They not only focus on animal welfare but also support local businesses, schools, and shelters. My milliondream for SVAS is to have a shelter that feels less like a pound and more like a luxury boarding facility.

I am originally from Saskatchewan, Canada but have been living and working in Minot for several years. I work as a School Psychologist in the public schools and my hobbies include golfing, cooking and anything related to my dog.

I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. After volunteering at the SVAS, I instantly loved spending time there with the animals and quickly grew a collection of photos on my phone. Once the summer job opened up to help with social media, I couldn’t apply fast enough.  It is basically my dream job being able to spend time with animals and assisting the hardworking shelter staff in finding forever homes for the pets.
